We are not alone

“This is my Hawaiian version of angels. At some point in each of our lives, we all have experienced that ‘middle seat.’ We are not alone.”

Healing vs Curing

“Healing vs Curing: Curing is the business of medicine and has to do with eliminating symptoms. A cure will seldom ever result in a healing. Healing is a different business. Healing works on four levels: the energetic; the mythic (the level of the soul); the psychological, where you can test out new beliefs; and the literal, where you can test out new behaviors, new diets, new yoga practices, new exercise routines.”

The W in WALK stands for Witness

“The W in WALK stands for Witness. When you walk, you quite literally see more. Your field of vision is nearly 180 degrees, compared to 40 degrees when you’re traveling at 62 mph. Higher speeds smudge our peripheral vision, whereas walking actually broadens your canvas and dramatically shifts the objects of your attention. For instance, on our pilgrimage, we would notice the sunrise everyday, and how, at sunset, the birds would congregate for a little party of their own…A walking pace is the speed of community. Where high speeds facilitate separation, a slower pace gifts us an opportunity to commune.”
