Synopsis:
Elisabeth Haich is presently a teacher of yoga at the Yogaschule Yesudian-Haich in Europe, and the author of well-known books on yoga and spiritual discipline. At the request of her students, she wrote INITIATION, a unique autobiographical novel bringing together the life story of a woman in the 20th century, with the full measure of events and experiences that contributed to her spiritual growth, and vivid recollections of her earlier life experiences as a young priestess in ancient Egypt. A story within a story emerges, describing in exciting detail how the woman is prepared for initiation by the High Priest Ptahhotep, who leads her, step by step, in harmony with her development, to an understanding of the ultimate mysteries.

I have read this wonderful book many times over about a 14 year period. Everyone who I have recommended it to has been equally impressed. It is beyond the term 'classic' for it is an 'eternal' IMHO. Filled with lessons and insights in to so many areas of life and Spirit. And written in my favorite of ways; as an autobigraphy/story with rich descriptions . I am honored to have found this book at the time I did and that it continues to inspire is a great blessing :)Anyone who reads this and has not read Initiation please do yourself a favour, and see that among so much these days that is pure fantasy that there a few books, and this is one ,that holds timeless truth , real mystical wisdom that awakens the soul and what it means to be a true Hu man being...In Loving Light |

This book is a must read for those seeking to understand and connect to divine power within us and our surroundings. It is a timeless, tapestry of art that weaves together the common links of man/god/nature. It is much needed in a time where illumintation is beckoned to take center-stage. I give it a perfect 10. I read Initiation 20 years ago and through extraordinary events am re-reading it. It is assisting in saving my life. I must say that I believe Elisabeth's story to be more truth than fiction. Robin Snyder |

It was a difficult decision to rate this as a 10 until I gave up the possibility of reading a book that resulted in immediate enlightenment. This fictional journey into the initiation process in ancient Egypt takes the reader philosophically and emotionally into an expanded state of awareness. Not your average piece of fiction. This is a book that I have read several times through the course of my adult life. I would not want to be without a copy on my bookshelf. |
