Synopsis:
Join Jalaja Bonheim on a fascinating journey of exploration as she
invites dozens of women from a wide range of spiritual traditions and
backgrounds to tell the stories of their sexual experiences. By
sharing our stories, and by contemplating them in the context of the
spiritual journey, we begin to heal centuries of repression and shame
and rediscover the innocence and beauty of sexual pleasure. The
stories gathered in this extraordinary book open our eyes to the
rarely acknowledged power of sexual experience to serve as spiritual
teacher and guide.

Catherine Davies, 10/1/99 Liberating, healing, and speaks to all women
Every woman can relate to the stories in this book. Women who are engaged in one or more sexual relationships...women who love men, other women, and themselves...celibate women...women healing from various sexual wounds (which I imagine is all of us!)...
I turned forty this year and have been exploring the wildly expanding experience of my own sexual spirit for the last three years. This book speaks to my own experience like no other that I've read. It's no "how-to" manual (phew! what a relief); rather the stories assure us that no matter what our sexual choices and paths, our sexual and spiritual selves are one, and to be celebrated. A beautiful book!

, 06/03/97: Reveals the sacredness within women's sexual
stories
A book of fascinating and touching stories that reveal sexuality as
an immensely powerful force in women's personal growth and spiritual
unfolding. From the nun who discovers her sexuality at age 50 to the
frustrated wife who teaches her husband how to make love to her, this
book contains hundreds of stories from women on the spiritual path
that reveal the profound impact of sexuality on the spiritual
journey. Healing and transformative.
A Reader, 1/13/98
Told by a dozen or so women, interviewed and pulled together by
the author. Beautifully written, easily read. Tranformational in that
you see yourself and sisters in the stories and know you are not the
only one. Story telling as healing tool.
J., 06/12/97, Honoring women's
sexual journeys, a must read!
Aphrodite's Daughters is a remarkable collection of stories told in
women's own voices and beautifully interwoven with the author's own
observations and thoughts.I found myself reading my own sexual story
throughout the book - a true validation of my own journey. A
compassionately written book, Aphrodite's Daughters is a must read
for any woman, or man, who seeks a deeper understanding of our sexual
experiences as it unfolds along our sacred paths.
