After suffering a severe depression and ultimately wanting to give up in life i had considered suicide. The Lord would not let me be a quitter and through his guidance he showed me that we are not alone in our sufferings and even though it may seem that we are very much alone (because from our view point it seems that no pain or loss is greater than when it rests on our hearts and weighs us down with great sadness and a sense of abandonment from friends and family.) We turn inward to our state of prayer to release us from our emotional pain. And so it was through this book "The Aquarian Gospel of Jesus the Christ" by Levi Dowling that I came to know the uncomparable suffering and buffeting that He endured through His final days on this Earth that He still forgave His tormentors and He taught unconditional love. It is through unconditional love that I understand my purpose here on earth. To reconcile myself, mind, body and spirit with God. And it is God, the Father, who we must one day reunite with. I was blessed tremendously and have never known love so fully and joyfully than when shared in Christ.
Read this book with your heart, and your thirst for the truth will be quenched!!
In July, 1977 I was in Visions of Arata in the Westport area of Kansas City, Missouri. I had been baptized in the holy spirit through the ritual of the laying on of hands in the Church of Agape two months earlier, and from that moment on I had been going through the most intense inner crisis of my life. Though I knew, because I was experiencing him on a daily basis, that Jesus was real, I also knew for the same reason that what was being presented of Jesus' life and being in the traditional Christian Bible was not the whole truth about Jesus. The Bible plain out says this at the end of the Gospel of John. I wanted the whole truth about Jesus. Nothing less would satisfy me. This was my prayer to him and this was what was causing my dilemma, because I had no idea where to go to even begin looking for whatever truth about Jesus wasn't contained in the Bible. As I stood in Visions of Arata for no reason but because I had been attracted to the African ambiance of the place, I glanced through the sole rack of books. The Aquarian Gospel drew my attention. I picked it up and perused it. At that moment I heard a voice behind me say, "This is the truth." I turned around quickly to see who had said that. The shop was empty - there wasn't even anyone at the counter. I came to know that voice. It was his. As is the Aquarian Gospel. It is his story, of when he was Jesus of Nazareth. For his continuing story, for his story in our time, well, that would have to be in another review!
A very pure energy resonates from this book, which was supposedly channeled from the Akashic records. Avoids most of the dogmas and religious biases that often accumulate around the figure of Jesus. The holy master from Galilee shines brightly through every page, with compassion and incisive wisdom.
Many of Christ's mystical metaphors become more accessible. Jesus's travels and studies in various sacred traditions are covered. Very interesting.
The Aquarian Gospel's formal, slightly archaic "scriptural" language might be a bit of a turn-off to some readers. Don't be dissuaded. This book is rich with jewels!
