Card catalog description:
In Conscious Dreaming, Robert Moss details a unique, nine-step approach
to understanding dreams, using contemporary dreamwork techniques developed
from shamanic cultures around the world. Conscious Dreaming shows you how
to use your dreams to understand your past, shape your future, get in touch
with your deepest desires, and be guided by your higher self. Moss explains
how to apply shamanic dreamwork techniques, most notably from Australian
Aboriginal and Native American traditions, to the challenges of modern life
and embark on dream journeys. Moss's methods are easy, effective, and entertaining,
animated by his skillful retelling of his own dreams and those of his students
- and the dreams' often dramatic insights and outcomes. According to Moss,
some shamans believe that nothing occurs in ordinary reality unless it has
been dreamed first. In the dreamscape, we not only glimpse future events,
we can also develop our ability to choose more carefully between possible
futures. Conscious Dreaming's innovative system of dream-catching and transpersonal
interpretation, of dream re-entry and keeping a dream journal enables the
reader to tap the deepest sources of creativity and intuition and make better
choices in the critical passages of life.

Conscious Dreaming is the most personal dream book I have encountered as a dream worker. It helped me to take on a more personable point of view as I decipher the meanings of my dreams. Tools, such as having checkpoint lists and creating my own indexes within my dream journal, are simple. They helped me to organize my thoughts and focus on the events that surround me. With this book, I see patterns in my life that coincide with my dream world. It is good for anyone who is beginning to study dreams because it seems to promote a certain level of structure that only the individual can create. I strongly reccommend this book.
R., 01/10/97 Not your average dream book!
I read a lot of material on dreaming and dreamwork, so some of the books I pick
up seem a bit repetative. Conscious Dreaming takes the standard fare to a whole
new and exciting level beyond the struggles with the personal unconscious into
fantastic realms that are available to us in dreams.

day on the planet-DREAM
Everything you need to know to put your life on track and your soul in harmony,
to make yourself safe and whole and connected is in the Dream time and Moss
shows you how to get there, how to crack the "secret" code of
the nightly dreams, and how to extract valuable guidance from every encounter
in the dream world we all go to nightly. This is absolutely the BEST dream
book on the market, bar none. Probably the only person who wouldn't want
you to read it is your average Freudian psychiatrist.
