B L R, 1/20/2001 Best book I've ever read
This is the most amazing book that I have ever read, and to all my fellow souls, keep searching and keep learning, from the wisdom that's all around us, as , who I believe is the Creator that is the divine whole in book 1 says humanity has been recieving message's since the dawn of time, we only need to look and listen and learn, and to guage the truthfulness of a subject matter , concept or idea, use our own feelings as a guide , it makes pure sense.. P.S. This is what I've personally got out of the book "A Conversation with God" My comments are my own and I've found my own truth and will continue searching for messages from the Creator, I do realise that people will for whatever reason will not take to this book, but I hope they find their own truth.
Toni, 11/6/2000
Thank you, God, in me... you have opened my eyes and comforted my soul... and at 25 years old, I know now I will live a more fulfilled life because of this blessing given to us. Thank you Neale.
Omega, 11/1/2000
About a year ago, read this book for the first time. I cried, I got chills, the whole nine yards. Here's the thing: this book has changed my thinking not because Neale Donald Walsch is such a great writer, but because it has opened a door for me. Walsch is not the first person to put these philosophies in print. The movement of self-definition, re-membering and the responsive Universe has been going on for a while. I urge anyone who has read these books to go out and read more books and more and more.Don't stop with the CWG trilogy. Keep going. Don't know where to start? Look in the back of books two and three. And if it's kind of uncomfortable to hold all this information in your head, don't worry, you get used to it.
BG, 7/31/2000 The most amazing book(s) I've ever read or will read in my life
This book touched me from the moment i picked it up. It was sitting at my grandparents house for months before I read it. I looked at it every day and never even thought to pick it up until about 3 months after my grandma died, then for some reason (when the student is ready, the teacher will appear) I picked it up and finished it in two days. My mother never forced any religion on me, and for that I am forever grateful. But I have very strict grandparents (not the one that died) and they tried to force their religion on me, but it never seemed right to me. So I prayed on my own time and had my own confused thoughts about God. I read this book and it was as if everything I ever believed in but never knew was in this book. It all clicked and honestly made sense. I'm not going to say I'm perfect now and my life is perfect because I'm not and my life is "hell" sometimes. But I've changed my thinking, I feel like I'm evolving at a higher level than I was before and I'm just on a higher level spiritually now. Its a beautiful thing. Everything in that book made sense to me. I've read it so many times I lost count, and I get something new out of it every time I read it. Something new just pops out at me that I didn't understand before. I never really felt that hell was real or the devil, now I'm convinced there is none. I like to tell people (when it comes up and it almost never does) that for someone to try and convince there is a devil is like someone sitting down and trying to rationally explain to me that there is an actual santa clause, it's just absurd. I could go on and on........ But I won't. I just wanted to say that this book is amazing and I cannot wait for the day that this world follows the beliefs in these books. It will be a beautiful thing. =)
JS, 2/2/2000
I have read all of the not so favorable reviews here because I wanted to see what differing opinions were out there. That is what I found to be a breath of fresh air about this book, that no one is shoving information down my throat and telling me to beleive it, also criticizing me when I do not. That is what I believe to be one of our greatest qualities as humans, to think freely and come to our own conclusions. I don't really care whether or not the author really had a conversation with God. If it is a sensible way to live your life and doesn't hurt anyone, go for it! I don't feel it's exploitation because anyone can write a book and sell it. We all find books that touch our souls in some way. This one has impacted me as it has made me think and has validated some feelings I already had. I could say that about several poems and short stories and works of fiction as well. Is that exploitation? I don't think so. Like I said, who cares where it came from if it makes sense, and this makes sense to me.
Black Raptor, 12/30/99 Unconditional love if you ask me :)
Well, this was an inspirational book, yes, but I felt thrown off when it said that the Bible isn't to be taken literally (you know with the true histories in there) and about reincarnation. But we don't really know what can happen after we pass on, we probably want to come back as a dolphin or an eagle because the soul was yearning for the physical experience. It sounds like it would be labeled as new age by most people and I was afraid if I said it really came from God, everyone would call me a nut too. We are judgemental and I learned that God is pure love and why would he throw his own child in hell for making an F in life, if they could have tried harder, if only someone taught them. I know He loves us unconditionally and the only hell there may be is the one we make ourselves. You believe what is right for your spirit, what suits you good in life is just fine, if I'm wrong in someone's eye's I know that God loves me.
Tina, 4/19/99 READ IT AND LIVE IN LOVE!
Thank you, Neale. I have read all three books and still refer back to them often. The changes I have brought about in my life and others is profound. I have given book 1 to friends and family and will keep doing so. I recommend these books everyone, despite your life circumstances. Read it, laugh, cry, feel, love, live.
LittleSoul, 3/20/99 How perfect this book was (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!), but.....
This was truely a fantastic book which changed my life completely. I now take such a different road in life (which is every road!) than I did before. I was so very confused about life and God when I tried to be Christian and read the bible. Why would a God create us only to torture us and let us suffer in hell? Would he get a kick out of his own creations' suffering or something? Is that what a parent does to his/her child? :)
To those of you who think we (the believers) are crazy, why not try being in our shoes? It's crazy that God loves his own creations no matter what? It's crazy that we want to know love, so we create "evil" (For you to experience something, you must first experience it's opposite)? It's crazy that our Father/Mother won't allow us to suffer forever? :D
I am fifteen years old, and I have more sense to believe the logical than adults (which is ironic in what I was taught most of my life)? I mean, this is stuff that agrees with science AND fulfills people in happiness. This is the greatest book written in mankind (other than the ---------------ORIGINAL------------- bible)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
Don't you think it's odd that the bible wasn't even written until 600 years after Jesus left the earth? Don't you think that God's and Jesus's quotes would have been altered JUST A HAIR in that 600 years? :D I mean, this is truth that doesn't have to be interpreted just the right way. It's calming. It's satisfying, AND it's modern! :D Don't you also think it's strange that so many books say so many similar things also? :D How odd!!! :D
But those of you who don't believe are still PERFECT! :) You are merely experiencing who you choose to be, and in God's supposed Genisis words... "It is good."
Love and light!
Docsiv, 10/16/98 Definitions of Genius
The definition of genius is: a moment of original thought. This book made me think of things I've never thought before. As a Physicist, I tend to think a lot. As a Christian, I was told that thinking was basically the way to hell. If you used your mind, and tried to rationalize God & creation, as a scientist you always came up with the same answer, no proof, no GOD! As a Christian, you had to have faith, which is belief in the absence of facts. The more my mind expanded the more confused I became. I guess it all goes back to Adam and Eve; the Tree of Knowledge is what damned them from the garden. I guess that's what gave rise to 'Ignorance is bliss'.
If you really got this book, I don't think that you would seek out Mr. Walsh for his insights. He is not to be followed like a shepherd; he is simply the scribe.
As many have already stated, this is the best book that I have ever read. I never believed in a mean God, but that's what I was taught since birth. I wanted a God of love, of acceptance, and this book only echoed my beliefs.
As science progresses we discover things that were once considered magic, but now are simple acts of nature, following the common laws of physics. Once schizophrenia was considered to be possession of the devil. We know now that it simply an imbalance of brain chemicals. I am now speaking of acceptance. The Christian Right teaches that God hates the acts of homosexuals, that it's 'acts of the devil'. But, science is now showing proof that homosexuality can be traced back to a brain chemical imbalance. Why would God create you different than the rest, then ban you to hell, because you canít overcome a chemical imbalance? And, currently we as scientist label it as an ìimbalanceî only because it is outside the norm. We may discover that it simply is what it is- different, not imbalanced.
This book has help me come to terms with death, I have lupus, so I think of it often. I was convinced that if I follow the current thinking of Christianity I was doomed to hell! First I live in 'sin' with my boyfriend who is one of the most wonderful men I've ever met. But, I wanted to marry him, simply to stop from burning in hell! But, I'm also D-I-V-O-R-C-E-D, which in the eyes of the Catholic Church is basically unforgivable. I have read the bible front to back, and found it very inspirational, but very contradictory. Nothing in the eyes of God was unforgivable, but there were 10 thinks that would damn you to hell! I personally don't know one soul on the planet, except for Jesus that was without sin. Why are people (especially Christians) so quick to judge? Just look at the Clinton Crisis! The Christian Right is screaming for his head because he's not 'Moral' enough. Who would be? They say that past presidents were of high morals. They haven't bothered to read their history books very well.
I want others I know to read these books, but most are not ready yet, hell they may never be. As the bible states and this book reads, you are not responsible for any one by yourself, yet we are all responsible for each other. So you can only live by example.
I also had this feeling that at the end of the book the author would let us in on the joke. It was all made up, but I had decided it would matter where this inspiration came from. I learned from this book, I re-membered because of this book. My life will forever be changed due to the thoughts this book made me think.
Kittycat, 8/27/98
I have read most of this book and find it to be one of the most real books that I have ever read. Now I will move on to his second book and then his third that is due to be released soon. I can't wait to read them all. I had the good fortune to listen to neale talk in Denver,Colorado. He was a most splendid talker also. The calm that I felt coming from his being was of the most importance to me in realizing that his books are for real. Get a chance to hear him talk take the time. You will not be disappointed, I truely believe what he has to say. I was ready, hope that you are too.
Barb, 6/23/98, BE NICE!
I have read Book One twice and almost finished Book Two. I have been reading some of the negative reviews and a few of the positive ones. I love the book and am implemening it into my life more and more each day. I see in some of the reviews that people are getting MAD because they don't agree with the author, be it God or Neale or a combination of both. I just read an interview done with Neale and he was asked how he deals with religious fundamentalists and he said something to the effect of: "I respect you and your beliefs even if/though they aren't the same as mine, and I am happy to see you so committed to what you believe and so willing to share it with others". Basically, to me, this says that he's not really asking you to believe as he does, just to consider the possibility. I don't necessarily believe that the book's way is the way for everybody, and if while reading it you are so deeply offended, then put it down! Maybe it's not for you. I believe that everybody has their own truth. Mine is found in Conversations With God. Whether yours is or not may be another story. Good luck either way.
etritle@pcocd2.intel.com, 4/17/98, Even as I child I "knew" these truths.
I have read thru all the reviews on this page and felt I needed to share my thoughts and feelings about these books. I have read both books 1 and 2 and feel I am finally home and in love. Even as a young child I felt confused and untrusting of the many messages of the bible that I could not get answers to. It wasn't until my 30's that I went to see a Psychic an "Intuitive Therapist" as he liked to call himself as he didn't like to be labeled as a new age psychobabblist. I too am very leary of all the labels and judgements we humans Need to put on things to "understand" them. From the very start of my readings I identified with Neale, with his deep guilt and shame and self loathing he had of his many failings in his Life.
I too am going thru some incredibly painful and challenging events, experiences and struggle so hard to not label myself a failure or having terrible or horrible luck due to my behaviors and decisions I have made. Every night I read Book 2. I have read thru each book one time and feel so many feelings. Many questions, some doublts, many judgements- (like how can Neale have lived so many lives. 647 X 50 years avg, = 32,350 Years!!! Yeah Right. But what if??) And why is Clinton quoted in the book. I hate Clinton ;) Really.
I have had such a profound change of ideals and outlook that I really want to go seek out Neale's Center in Oregon and meet the man and shake his hand and who knows?? Maybe something profound will move me out of my fear and judgements into action. I work in computers and find very little soul work being done here. I am a born again Christian and once again I had so many Questions.
I do Believe in Christ as My savior but I bristle at the notion that the only way I can be "saved" is by "Believing" in Christ. What about all the "heathens" in "Less developed" countries/cultures/etc. All for Now. In Love with God.
Eric
A Seeker, 2/28/98, Any grade from 0 to 10 is fine
I really think that labeling a book by saying it is "new age oriented" or "forces Neale's re-creation group" or whatever, means nothing and nothing says about the book.
When reading such a book, you should turn your rational mind off and leave just your "soul" on.
In doing so you can probably "forget" what christians, muslims, jewish, etc. say about "The Truth". If you can forget this, just for a moment, you cannot agree with what the book (or, God) says (that is, with what God is telling you while you reading the book).
You can not accept this book if your starting truth is:
God created us so that we can worship him, and failing in doing so, cause God to punish us.
I don't think that this book fights the old or new testament or any other "sacred" book, but it surely breaks whatever has been built on top of them by "mistraslations", "misinterpretations", "mis-anything".
My advice is to read the book with an open mind (possibly a very
open mind). If you understand the book, then you will be one step far
from the understanding of the universal language that God uses when
he speaks to us... You will not miss the "omens"...
Richard, 2/2/98
God talks to everyone, all the time.It is just a matter of who
chooses to listen.Listed in this book are Gods observations and
possible solutionsto problems currently facing humanity. We are free
to do as we choose and it is best to remember that we are all one.
Currently our economic systemsare poor models for providing all
incarnated souls with optimalopportunities to be joyous. If all of
humanity would resolve not to see themselves as seperate from another
then we will evolve into a compassionate society.
M.S., 1/8/98, At least people are thinking about it...
Having read several reviews (both very positive and quite negative), I find myself rather satisfied than not. The power of this book lies in its ability to persuade people to consider their relation to God -- where they stand, how they choose to perceive Him (if they choose to at all), what they need from Him, and how they choose to view the world. Whether the conversations occurred as Walsch claims, whether God Himself spoke, whether the reader believes the premise -- none of this really matters. This book invites the reader to consider what his/her truth is, and how that may relate to the Truth of God. For some, it will even invite an exploration of that Truth. After all, we all take God's existence/nonexistence, His kindness/anger, His love/punishment on faith. This books insists that we think -- and any book that does that is welcome.
A reader from Newburyport, MA
, 10/23/97, Overjoyed to read...
I was overjoyed to read a modern day book about God which enforced my
existing beliefs. Although my views change as I grow older, some
things remain to me eternally truthful... like Neal Donald Walsh
writes, God is out there (and inside each of us) and it is up to us
to listen. I do have some speculations about the reality of
"Conversations with God", as do many modern-day skeptics who have
read the book, I'm sure; but I have to admit that when I read it, I
felt very much connected to my world and all who live in it. I don't
know if any one book or one religion or one "God" is the answer... I
only know that at the time that I read this book, it was right for
me. There is more than one message of Love and more than one way to
get that message across. This book does a wonderful job of both and I
believe it has come at the right time. My thanks goes out to Neal
Donald Walsh for a beautiful sign. *On another note, I was
disappointed to find that after the initial paperback printing was
out of stock for so long, the reprint was only available in
hardcover. Understandable that some people might prefer to own this
book in hardcover, but it would have been nice to have been given a
choice.
R. from Milwaukee, WI ,
10/20/97, Unchain my soul
Before I read Walsh's book, my only knowledge of God was an etheral
"out there somewhere" deity that was waiting in judgement for me at
the end of my life. Several years ago, I was "saved" (ie. born again
Christian) thinking it was necessary to go to heaven. I had many
problems with this concept. Walsch's book has opened my spirit up to
the *true* God--bringing me to a level of joy I always knew was
possible, but was not able to find. I would encourage anybody who is
seeking for meaning in life--asking themselves questions like "Who am
I?" and "Why am I alive"--to read "Conversations With God" and let it
speak to his/her heart. It has given me hope for life rather than
looking forward towards death.

I read "A Course in Miracles" and I feel this has the same messages.
For me, the most important book on the planet!
A reader from Old Bridge, New
Jersey , 10/03/97, It is life changing
This book reaffirmed what I had known all my life, that God was not
to be feared and was all loving. Reading these books has been life
changing for me and for those I have led to the books. Learning to
live in "Concious awareness" is simple but not easy. But well worth
the journey.
A reader from Orlando, FL ,
10/03/97, Don't miss the point.
It appears that the negative reviews are being focused on one or two
of the many topics the book discusses. Some are attacking the book
and Walsch as self-serving and wrong. I feel that many miss the
message the book conveys and attack it only where it doesn't fit a
well-established school of thought. Why is this any different than
the way any well-established school of thought would have us look at
"other" religions? We all found our truth in them. This book
reinforced the beliefs I have felt to be true since I was a student
in a Catholic high school. It really asks us to look at ourselves,
and how we view ourselves among others. I'm not sure how we can
actually see ourselves as fundamentally different from each other. It
doesn't fit the nature of God. God is not hate, prejudice, anger, and
spite. I suggest that readers understand what the message is, then
use what works for each individual at specific phases of their lives.
After all, the book would suggest that it doesn't necessarily have to
be the "Word of God" for it to be true, right? Or is God truth? You
decide.
V., 09/27/97, A
life-changing event
Just finished going to a seminar in Warren, Mi, where Neal held a
large audience enthralled for an entire day. They obviously knew what
they had come to hear. If you haven't read, pondered, studied these
books yet, it is time, it is time. The guidebook for the #1 is
excellent. Another great way is to buy the audio tapes and listen to
them in your car on your work. You will find yourself saying, yes,
yes, yes! Thank you God, and thank you Neal, and thank you, the
publishers who had the foresight to know what they were reading,
M.L. from Chicago, Illinois
, 09/27/97, Finally! The truth that will set us free!
I've read the reviews and I know where the "1"s and "2"s are coming
from. I used to be a fundamentalist Christian. I saw blasphemy and
the devil everywhere. Then I opened my mind and started listening to
my "inner voice." Once I did that I began to mature spiritually, to
move beyond Christianity, and notice how really wonderful things
could be. Eighty percent of what Walsch talks about in his book works
- I know because I've been living it for decades. His book helped me
to understand WHY it works. The other twenty percent were just jaw
dropping revelations which made me realize that many of the things
I've written off as religious myths really happened! These
revelations also helped me to realize the unlimited power we humans
possess. Some people think $20 is a lot to pay for this book. With
the knowledge and peace of mind this book has brought me, I think
it's worth ten times that!
R. from Venice , 09/24/97,
Inconsistencies and New Age references killed it.
You should probably read this. But don't discount what you know to be
true simply because this is a BOOK. Somehow people assume because it
is the written word, it is gospel (no pun intended). The multiple,
unconnected references to what I assume is a New Age mindset wrecked
this book for me. A lot of it DOES truly hit home and I agree with
much of what Walsch says. Stuff I already knew was reinforced. And
the notion that the book found its way into my life at the time which
it did does intrigue me. And who are we to say that Walsch is not
deserving of such an intimate dialogue with Him? God speaks to me
when I ride my bike along the beach at sunset, for the beauty of the
world around me IS God. It requires listening, as Walsch says. Or as
he says God says. But overall the book smells fishy. It caters a
little too much to the irresponsible part in each of us. Such license
for free reign just feels counterintuitive. But read it anyway.
Preferably on a loaner from a friend. Use the twenty bucks toward a
nice dinner with a loved one.
A reader from Keene,New
Hampshire, 09/13/97, "Conversations" is riddled with
fallacies, heresy
I purchased both Vols. 1&2 of "Conversations", feeling that God
does work in mysterious ways & may, in fact, have chosen
Mr.Walsch to be a modern -day messenger. Unfortunately, I soon found
the material to be in direct conflict with both OT and NT scripture.
As I read further, esp. in Book #2, it became clear that Mr.Walsch is
using the pretense of speaking directly with God to add credibility
to his New Age and liberal solutions to today's "problems" (or
supposed problems). I cannot believe that God is non-judgmental; that
there were no Ten Commandments; that Hitler is in heaven (no one is
in heaven until the Second Coming of Christ, and if Hitler makes it,
that bodes well for the rest of us!); that morality is individually
defined; that "society" is to blame for Hitler's and others' crimes;
that God would repeatedly say that we are destroying the planet (we
are not); that a one-world government will protect us from the evil,
greedy rich...There ARE some good points made: his discussion of
relationships; the need to assume personal responsibility for the
circumstances in our lives. I have highlighted those areas & will
return to them from time to time. But my overall impression is that
the books were written under a false pretense, to espouse the
author's political and social messages.

"Conversations With God" by Neale Donald Walsch is without a doubt
one of the most profound and awesome books of our time.
Walsch takes the reader on a journey of the relationship with his god which is of the most personal nature.
I had no doubt of the author's sincerity in this entire communication between a mortal man; infact, quite an ordinary man by Walsch's own description and God the almighty of which most of our world gives credence to.
This book had been recommended to me 4 times before I got the message, bought it and read it! On my 1st reading there were evenings while reading this discourse that I became so excited I literally had to put the book down in order to get to sleep. One feels as if they are eavesdropping in on the most personal of dialogues between a most vulnerble human and the almighty spirit of the living lord.
In the introduction Walsch plants a pertinent seed for believing in the authenticity of this book. Who are we to believe that God stopped communicating with us 2000 years ago? In my own journey with my God, he speaks to me through others, through our animal world and even our plant world; and sometimes more importantly to me when I slow down enough to listen to that "still, small voice within" that wants and desires my attention.
"Conversations with God" is a must read regardless of spiritual ideologies. Yes, there may be those who will call Walsch a blasphemer, a heretic or even delusional but the premises of love involved in this book are worthy aspirations our planet could learn to implement into our lives.
For me, the book literally changed how I view my God, My Lord and perhaps more importantly how I view myself.
One has to applaud Walsch for having the courage to publish a book on the leading edge of thought; a lonely spot at best!
A world of the the 4th dimension awaits the reader who ventures into this most absorbing of dialogues between one man and his God!
A reader from Gilford, New
Hampshire, 08/29/97, Everyone should spend some serious
time with this book
I have just read the reviews of those who rated this book on the low
side. They just don't get it!!! What is reminded for us in the
writing is the love that God has for all of us and that we are simply
experiements. I found this book to express most of my personal
beliefs and it reminded me of the things I needed to work harder at.
Book 2 shows more of the ulterior motives of the author, but Book 1
is beautiful. Buy it, loan it to others, get it back and reread it
every 5 years. Then leave it to someone in your will. You will hear
their "thank you" after you are departed.
D., 08/24/97, Psychobabble
expected of exploiters
With the numerous contradictions found in this book I could only
conclude that the author has taken his place among the Swaggerts and
Bakers of the world. If one accepts the premise that God had to learn
who and what he (she) is the rest of the book may make sense to you,
but I just didn't get it!
A reader from U.S.A.,
08/21/97, Most importantly, profoundly life-altering book I ever
read!
You must be "ready" for this book! If you're
questioning the life experience, this is the book for you.
The common sense, the answers to all of your questions about why you
and I are here, what is the purpose, what is the plan, are all
answered here, in wonderfully understandable and sometimes
humorous,sometimes very serious ways.
.
I can't say enough about this book and the one that follows it (CWG-Book 2). Read it, reread it, you won't be sorry!
B., 08/04/97, Whew!
I thought I was not being of my usual open minded self until I
stopped by here. I have read many many books on spiritual growth. I
looked forward to settling down with Conversations With God and
learning more about our relationship with God. It had been on the top
best selling list for a long time, so it had to be great... right?
All I need to say is that I never got past about the 20th page. And I
tried twice thinking maybe I missed something.
K.A., 08/03/97, You're
being exploited!
Anyone who can stomach the ironies inherent in this book (reading a
book telling you not to trust printed materials, heeding a souce
telling you to distrust authority) and the absurdities that crop up
at every page (our feelings and gut instinct are really extensions of
our souls, the fact that God uses italics because He can't quite pick
the right word) deserves to be exploited by this author. Walsch has
obviously written a book that will open the wallets of soft-headed
souls who swallow any religious schmaltz. The book is poorly written,
obviously exploitative, and absurd. Walsch should be ashamed of
himself, as should 95% of the authors in this field (eg, "The
Celestine Prophecies"). If the audience of these books would only
raise their standards instead of wallowing in this sort of slop, your
authors would have no choice but to follow.
A reader, 07/31/97
Interesting book... this "Conversations with God."
Bottom line, I didn't buy it. Dictations from God? Past lives? (647
of them suckers!). Psychobabble... was the most prominent thought
when reading this tale.
But in fairness, he did a good job picking apart organized religions
and their illogical foundations. I came to the book an atheist, and
left it even more so.
V.B., 07/27/97
Conversation with God is a powerful book. I savored and pondered it
all.... and then re-read it two more times. I suggest any serious
seeker of God write their own "conversations" with God in a personal
journal. While God is not guiding my hand directly--just the act of
getting in touch with my higher self through written words has made
me more aware, and in a completely different way than meditation.
D.W.J., 07/20/97,
bravo!
this is a special book. I recommend it highly to every living being
in this world who thinks it's time to get serious about making this
world a better place for all to live in. get it. read it. it will
change your life. amen.
D.B., 05/19/97, An
outstanding articulation of the message of the prophets
Neale Donald Walsch touches the hearts of all those who have yearned
deeply to search for meaning in their lives, to find the essence of
the extraordinary relationship between man and God, self and Self,
soul and Supersoul. Walsch's struggles, his despair and his pain are
ours, and his sincerity and openness to receive the Higher Teachings
have become a serendipitous blessing for all those who believe in a
benevolent, loving, compassionate and just God. Walsch has proved to
be an incredibly pure instrument for God's message to come through in
one of the simplest narratives on a complex subject. Even those who
refuse to believe that God can talk to an ordinary mortal must learn
one day that their disbelief is merely a choice they have made
because they are not ready to receive the Word. That is the way it
is, and it is quite all right. Walsch provides a very simple method
for us to look at ourselves sincerely, non-threateningly and
compassionately, and then CHOOSE to do, or not do, anything about it.
That, in my view, is the beauty of this Uncommon Dialogue! For those
who have studied the Hindu scriptures, this dialogue will not be so
uncommon, because the Hindu scriptures are also similarly derived. To
control or to dictate to whom God shall speak and when and how, is to
take on too much responsibility on oneself which one can never hope
to carry. If there is any blasphemy here, it is perpetrated by those
who claim to know God's mind and judge whether or not Mr. Walsch is
worthy of God's Word. I recommend this book very highly to anyone who
is looking for meaning in their lives and relationships. I can't wait
to read the rest of the dialogue. Thank you, Mr. Walsch, for the most
wonderful book!
A., 05/19/97, Christ said
'God is within'. Why do 'Christians' deny this?
After reading the other reviews of this book, I'm dismayed at all the
so called 'Christians' denying the TRUTH within this book; God IS
within. Christ preached this to his followers. John the Apostles
wrote of God as Love, which he most assuredly learned from Christ.
And yet the masses of christians are still clamoring with cries of
blasphemy? And why? What are they afraid of? It is not for me to say
that the messages received by the author in his conversations with
God are correct or not. But I will say that God DOES speak to each of
us, every day, if we would but listen. If you listen for God you will
hear him, but if you fear God you will not. God IS Love, not fear.
Any thought, word or action which is not positive, is NOT Love, and
therefore can not come from God. This book is a positive statement of
God within us all. It should become an incentive for everyone who
reads this book to search for God within themselves, for God IS
within them, whether they will admit it or not. Man creates dis-ease
and pain for themselves, not God. It is the negativity of humanity
which causes its disease and pain, not God. Those who cry 'real
world' should consider this fact of the 'real world'; anything
negative is destructive, and erodes life. Anything that is positive
is constructive and maintains life. God is the creator of All that
is. Therefore the 'creator' has no use for destruction or destructive
beliefs. But God has given us free-will to create or destroy
ourselves as we see fit, until such time as we realize that if we
want a positive constructive life, we must reassociate ourselves with
the creator and His will, His plan for our happiness. Only by talking
with God can we learn this plan. Any other so called truth, any
so-called truth written by man, is likely only half the truth. When
you want the whole story you go to the source. God is our source, God
IS within.
S., 05/17/97, Unbelievably
Ridiculous
I am appalled at Walsch's contention that this book was actually
written by "God" and dictated to him!! The concept that everything
that happens to us is by our own choice can surely be seen as
blatantly false by anyone who lives in the real world. Certainly,
there are some things that we "cause" to happen either consciously or
unsconsciously, but does a small child "choose" to be sexually
abused? Does everyone who is ill "choose" to be ill? And, can they
make themselves well if they just change their mindset? I think
not!!
I realize there are many people today who agree with the concepts put forth in Conversations with God and they are entitled to their views. And, in general, I am interested in different philosophies, but not when someone writes that these ideas are coming directly from God and, therefore, must be THE TRUTH and must be believed. Come on, Mr. Walsch, do you really believe that God is speaking directly to you or is this just a ploy to add credibility to your own philopsophy?
S.F., 05/13/97, Neale
Donald Walsch re-invents the golden calf.
Mr. Walsch writes well; he writes powerfully to the fallen human
being who seeks consolation in their falleness. Don't we want for
consolation for our unfulfilled humanity? It doesn't matter that if
we are to be fully human we must aspire to the divine and make
ourselves sacred- not re-invent the Divine in an all too human
way.^M
Sadly, "Conversations with God" will be more successful than it is right now; it will rocket to the top with the same feverishness that propelled the Celestine Prophesies. Not because there lacked better books, but because we needed our feel-good fix. After all, there is so much to feel bad about with regards to what we have done and what we have failed to do.^M
It doesn't really matter to people that this book is not about God as He is, but rather how we might wish he was. For whatever reasons, Walsch's fans can't see that God's excellence surpasses the humanity of the God-like character in this book. The real God not only loves you; his love desires for your complete fulfillment and happiness- a fulfillment that is beyond the mere and fleeting self-satisfaction that Walsch recommends to us.
B.K., 05/10/97, A book for all to use, so that we might re-member
Conversations with God (Book 1) put many things into perspective for me. It took the many pieces of the puzzle that I already had, rotated them into the proper orientation and allowed them to fall easily into place. It permitted me to have a clearer view of "the big picture". At least a larger piece of it. And, it has permitted me a new sense of freedom and confidence in how I live my life. Not with obligation, but with opportunity.
The truth contained in these written words is so self-evident that I continue to be amazed. If you can be open to the possibility that God *can* communicate in this way (and why not?) the truth may be evident for you as well. Only loving and positive information is presented in a manner that leaves you free to choose for yourself. And why would God want it any other way!?!
Waiting anxiously for book 2. Enjoy in Joy!!
L.M., 05/05/97, "Here's
your sign"
You don't have to read very far to see that the God Mr. Walsch thinks
he is talking with isn't the same God the Bible teaches us about. If
Mr Walsch really thinks God told him there is no such thing as right
and wrong, maybe he, and anyone who rated this book a "10", should
read the Bible a little closer. I seem to remember something about
"The Ten Commandments!"
F.H.W., 05/02/97, At last!
A God of love! Not a petulant, childish, tyrant!
Finally! A book that re-affirms the feelings and beliefs that I have
always had about God! I grew up in a hellfire and brimstone church,
where God's wrath was emphasized, and I heard the message "God is
love" only twice in a sixteen year timespan. I never believed that
God was a petty, selfish, egotistical ogre, demanding worship and
praise, and worried that there would be other "gods before him." How
could a perfect, all-powerful God of perfect love project such fear
onto IT's creation? And yes, God is "IT," not a "he" or a "she." What
use does a spiritual being have for gender? My congratulations to Mr.
Walsch on having the courage and the willingness to be an instrument
of Divine Love, and my congratulations to him for being willing to
usher in a higher level of consciousness. Christians believe that God
is coming back to Earth someday. If God did, how many orthodox
religions would God dismantle? Most of them, I suspect.
Congratulations, and thank you, Mr. Walsch. Well Done!

Simplicity at it's best! Most profound "truths" in life are quite
simple. We hu-mans tend to screw things up with our need for
complexities.^M
This book was easy to read and easy to understand when listening to the harmonious chords that sound in your heart with each God statement. Yes, these types of conversations have been reported by others many times over many years but never as clear as what Mr. Walsch has given us.^M
As with all people; You only see what you CHOOSE to see, hear what you CHOOSE to hear, and do what you CHOOSE to do in all aspects of your livingness.^M
A very good book. I recommend it to everyone!
T.G., 04/29/97, THIS IS NO
ORDINARY BOOK
This book is spreading so fast that it will probably be a household
word before too long.^M
If you want to know what all the excitement is about, just read it for yourself. Even if you have never read a channeled book before, try to suspend your fear and/or doubt for a moment. The material speaks for itself if you will but listen.
R.C.S., 04/29/97,
Spiritually thought-provoking
All too often a book of this nature leaves one with more questions
than answers...this book is the exception. It is not so much a book
of discovery as it is a book (or rather, conversation with God) of
recovery...recovery of that which many of us already know
instinctively. It is a refreshing look at life and answers, or
confirms, many of the issues which many find contradictory in their
lives. A must read for all...young and old alike.
S.J.H., 04/22/97,
Extraordinary message from God and the Universe
This book ranks among the best books I have read in a very, very long
time! I don't recall how this book came to me (the universe works in
mysterious ways) but once I began reading it, I could not put it
down. It inspired me to create infinite number of possibilities for
my future and help me speak a whole new language that has opened many
doors of opportunity. After 15 years on Wall Street, I am now
pursuing an entirely new career as a motivational speaker who happens
to be profoundly deaf. My life has become even stronger because the
book has helped me clarify my purpose on earth and recognize that God
also wants me to serve as his instrument of unconditional love and
peace. I know this because I have been blessed with excellent speech
and lipreading skills creating an excellent opportunity for me to
serve as a vehicle of courage, strength, hope and determination. My
mission through the motivational speaking role is: "TO MAKE THIS
WORLD A BETTER PLACE TO LIVE BY LIVING MY LOVE UNCONDITIONALLY". As a
result of reading the book (twice so far) I have become a member of
the National Speakers Association and have been busy preparing for a
speaking tour, a book (of my own!), a web site (soon to be
http://www.sjhopson.com) and many other things. I can't wait to read
books 2 and 3. Once again, my sincere gratitude goes to God, the
Universe and Mr. Walsch for helping me prepare for the next step in
this life.
F.B., 04/18/97,
Extraordinary in its clarity and tone
This book speaks so succinctly and clearly to what I feel is the real
purpose of life that I'm buying another copy to lend. And I look
forward to books 2 and 3.
C.H., 04/16/97, A total
perception
Conversations with God must be viewed as larger than any religion,
personal history, or learned set of beliefs. It transcends parochial
thought and moves to individual responsibility, direct communication
with a higher source, and the removal of the boundaries which so
often keep us from empowering our lives with modern language and a
confirmation of the rightness of humor, action, and love.
D.S., 04/15/97, Transformed
my Life
I am a real skeptic on the subject of automatic writing or
channeling. I don't beliee God needs any channel other than His/Her
direct link to my soul to communicate with me. So I began my
experience with this book with a healthy dose of skepticism.
As I read, I encountered passage after passage where the message resonated with my life experiences and with long-held, unarticulated beliefs. The book literally transformed me at a fundamental level that I, at the age of 51, did not believe was possible. Or even desirable. Yet, I find I like myself better now and I am at peace in my center.
Whether God -- whatever you understand Him, Her or It to be -- actually spoke to and through Walsch to you or whether you conclude these are Waslch's studied ideas passed on to you in the form of a God dialog, you will find the content to be thought-provoking, challenging, and immensely spiritually insightful.
Ultimately, I think books such as this should be judged not on their claims but on their results. In my case, the result is a spiritual renewal that has my family, friends, coworkers and acquaintances staring in genuine shock. My life has been changed...and I can now make a real contribution to changing the world.
I just read a preview of Book 2 and I can't wait. Meanwhile, I'm re-reading this one and highlighting things that are particulary important to me.
If you're an open-minded person who believes that God never stops talking to us, then you really owe it to yourself to buy this book. It may not change your life as it has mine, but it will certainly challenge your thinking. And that, in the final analysis, is the best commentary I can offer on any book.
A reader, 04/11/97, Thank
you GOD, and Thank you Mr. Walsch
It is nice to see all of those stuffed collars in this world are
finally being recognized for what they aren't. Communicators to GOD!
The middle person(s) between GOD and the flock. GOD speaks to
everyone all of the time. We only need to stop and take the time to
truly listen to the world around us. As there are different
languages, GOD speaks to us in different ways. GOD listens to us.
Don't you think it is time we listen to GOD. It is time to truly
celebrate! Thank you Mr. Walsch for sharing with us your
Conversations with GOD. I rate this book a 1997 A.D.
D.E., 04/08/97, Thank you
Neal and thank you God
I have read everything I could get my hands on from eastern
philosophy, to the "Tao Te Ching", to Gurdjieff, to Carlos
Castenada's many books, to the "Nag Hammadi Library". You name it and
I probably read it. They are all very interesting and engaging, and
some, like Lao Tse's Tao Te Ching, are incredibly powerful. But all
left me far from the enlightenment I sought.
More recently I have found excellent works like: Levy's "The Gospel of Jesus the Christ"; "Emmanuel's Book" volumes 1,2 & 3; and "The Course in Miracles". While I got closer and closer to the simple truths of life with each of these, it took 'Conversations with God' to finally enable the understanding I knew was possible.
I was brought up Catholic and am grateful for the spiritual foundation this afforded me, but I found the same fundamental contradictions Neal alludes to in CWG. I could not rectify the Christian Biblical teachings with my feelings. While there is so much good in the Bible, some of the contradictions were just too troubling.
I drifted from the church in search of other truths which might be closer to God's real being and give me the answers I sought.
I wondered where the journey would lead next and remained ever hopeful, and finally it is here. There are no contradictions in this book. Everything is consistent. All of life makes sense now.
With this enlightenment however comes ultimate repsonsibility. The buck starts and stops here with me. This is the most challenging aspect. But we are all supported by God's infinite Love which makes the living and and creating and re-membering so joyous.
Words can hardly express my gratitude and appreciation to God and to Neal for this work.
Amazing.
E.M., 04/06/97, God's humor
needs work!!
I find far more evidence of God's humor (and much more entertaining)
in the natural world and in my own life than in this Book. I did find
ironic humor in God "saying" in the book that the written word should
be the least trusted. Lo and behold!! Another book! This book
stresses the importance of individual experience and "re-membering
that the individual is God". While this was a dialogue with the
author's God, it was not a dialogue with my God. Mine, thankfully,
did not wake me up in the middle of the night and demand that I begin
taking shorthand. In sum, I would prefer to take The Bible to my
desert island simply for the sheer breadth of story and room for
interpretation.
U., 04/03/97, I am greatful
to god for writing a book to me.
Continually, I would come to this book and find that it was answering
the very questions that I had reciently been thinking about. It was
as if the portion of the book that I had not read yet did not exist
until I turned the page and then it was filled in with the message
that I needed to hear. Of course, I realize that the process is
simpler and more amazing than that and that this book was written
expressly for me and for a million other individuals at the same
time. And that the most fundamental truths answer any important
questions. I refer readers to "A Course in Miracles" which was
written by the same guy and expresses the same message.
B.D., 03/25/97, It 'll make
laugh and cry
At first I was skeptical and avoided it like the plauge. I thought it
was a another book written by some person that was either a fanatic
or someone just out to scam someone. Then friends of mine started
reading it and telling me that it had changed their lives. After
awhile I became currious and decided to see what it was about. It
made me laugh and cry, But most of all it reminded me of who I am and
who we all are.
O., 03/25/97, Ahhh, at last
it's OK to feel this way
If I could articulate how I would wish for God to be, this would be
it!! I have only read this book once so far, but plan to read it
again, as it was pretty deep. I was even in tears a few times. I
would have everyone on Earth read it!
M.F., 03/23/97, I KNEW IT!
George Burns WAS God!
God does have a sense of humor and a straight ahead style remeniscent
of one of our national treasures, George Burns. With an open, clearly
written form, Neale Donald Walsh passes on one of the most concise
works on living a powerful, rewarding life that contributes not only
to others, but most powerfully to you, the reader. I'm not new to
this topic. Over the last 35 years I've consumed as many different
books and taken many looks at the nature of God and our own personal
reality. Never have I been so satisfied in the continuity of a book
as I was of "God." I, for one, do not generally relish "doing my
homework." At "God's" suggestion, I have just finished my fourth
reading of the book and started a fifth reading. I have been
rewarded, as "God" promised, with may fresh insights and an increased
satisfaction in my day to day experience of life and all that goes on
around me. This is an interesting, entertaining look into the mirror.
I recommend it highly. Be prepared for several short nights ; this
one is tough to put down.
G.P., 03/20/97, I wish
everyone would read this book and THINK about it!
This book was enthralling. It gave me a new perspective on many
things and reinforced others that I have always felt. I was raised
Catholic with a vengeful God. When I was in my twenties I came to my
own realization that I did not believe that a God so full of love
could be vengeful. I came to believe that there was no hell, only the
one we make here and that God did not want us to live in fear of him,
but in love. This book does give us thought to make our lives much
simpiler and easier. I wish that everyone would read this book and
that it would have the profound effects of God's words on them. To
live our life's in love and peace, taking care of each other instead
of fear, stress and hatred. What a great world this could be
again.
C.B., 03/09/97, Only GOD
could have provided the answers so simply !
A great book from start to finish. Sure this book will enrage those
who believe in a GOD that loves and hates. Walsch has been able to
show us that having a one on one conversation is possible. For you
skeptics. You pray unceasingly to something you cannot see and expect
to get an answer. Yet, if GOD did answer you directly, you would be
to scared to tell anyone because of course GOD only speaks to clergy.
What a shame and what a load of crap. As Walsch puts it - a GOD of
love gives little hope for organized religion to control people. How
can they control without fear and punishment. If you have to ask
yourself if you are on the path then you are not, if you are you
probably embraced this work and are looking forward to the nextYou
will discover that you don't have to attend church every Sunday for
GOD to love you. You will learn that you are a part of GOD and you
carry that spirit with you everywhere whether you realize it or
not.
M.S., 03/09/97, Great
Awakening for Part two of Life.
I am not sure if I would have been able to absorb the best peices of
this internesting dialogue with out the maturity and hindsight that I
have today. I am contemplating who is ready to receive this book, as
someone passed it along to me at just the right time, thanks, MJ! In
the meantime, this "conversation" offered three important lessons for
me : 1. The notion of a judgemental GOD is not needed. We are all
part of his familiy and an extension of himself. We own our mistakes
for a reason and from the text of this book learn that the mistakes
we make can help us learn or keep us down if we continue them. 2..
All persons on this planet are on their own path and we will do much
better to expect less from others and more from ourselves. 3. Instead
of praying to our GOD for assistance, we should pray with gratitude
for the things that will be in our lives, as we make them. This idea
eliminates the "results and expectations " we are looking for and
brings out the true motivation to create what we can of ourselves.
Thanks N.D. Walsch!
S.W., 03/05/97, Interesting
twist on elementary New Age thought
Although the premise is interesting, the "truth" Walsh speaks of is
just a conglomeration of basic, elementary new age thought. I would
consider it a primer for anyone who is breaking out of traditional
religious orthodoxy, but certainly not any higher truth than anyone
with a spiritual consciousness can come to understand through any
religious or spiritual background. God speaks to all of us everyday -
it's nothing new - we just have to become aware of it.
A reader, 02/26/97, An
Existential Dialogue
This book is wonderful, but it does not promote moral relativism, as
another reviewer suggested. We should base our lives in love --
something that has some very obvious moral implications.
Conversations... has shown me a God a need not fear, but one I can
believe exists; a God of Love.
I., 02/25/97, An appalling
exercise in self-deception.
The author has done nothing but re-invent God in the author's own
image. Case in point: Mr. Walsch is "told" by "God" that none of what
he was taught by religious writings or teachers has any relevance;
the only thing that matters is the author's own feelings and
emotions, which are always his own "highest truth." All the great
world religions are thus reduced to total meaninglessness, because
nothing they teach, according to "God," is objectively true. This is
very convenient for Mr. Walsch, of course, as anything he (or anyone
else) wants to feel is true or right for him is apparently OK with
God. This is do-your-own- thing, create-your-own morality at its
worst. If the author had been willing to honestly represent this as
his own perspective on what he would like God to be, there might have
been some value in it, at least as entertainment. But to represent
these words as actually coming from God is ludicrous. If all you want
from a self-made religion is some warm fuzzy feelings and permission
to do as you please, this book might be right up your alley. If,
however, you are looking for anything that can actually be called
truth, save your money and avoid Mr. Walsch's self-serving mass of
illogic.
T.D., 02/24/97, Not sure of
format, but liked the content very much.
The book was filled with valuable insight. It's the type of book you
will want to read many times. The format was a little hard to
believe. Only because the author seemed to be such a screw-up. I felt
as though the reader was being manipulated. It was not sincere.
R., 02/21/97, I'm the
pilot, God is along for the ride.
A very nice read. Yes, it is a little rough around the edges but that
gives it some of its charm. I'm not sold on the idea that Walcsh is
talking to God, I don't think there is "A" God, but I do feel that he
has connected with a informative spiritual guide that has a lot to
re-teach us.
F., 01/27/97, Just When You
Least Expect It, God Sneaks Up On You... Again
Don't get bogged down in where this material did or did not come
from. Read a little of it. If it is for you, you will know pretty
quickly. This information is not new. The deepest wisdome NEVER is.
This IS a refreshing delivery which obviously comes from someone who
KNOWS of what they speak. That's enough for me. If you would like a
little taste check out this web site which is sponsored by the

H, 01/24/97, Spoke to my
soul ********** Greatful to GOD & Walsch
I could not say it any better than those who have given this book a
10. I feel the same feelings have been stirred in me. Reading this
book was like having the conversation with God myself, and having him
answer all those questions that I have had for as long as I can
remember. Each answer made me remember that, I had known the answer
all the time. I bought 4 books and of those that I have loaned out
and given away, I am sad to say that so far, only one (my brother)
actually got the message that I did. It was great to share the same
experience with him that I had felt while reading the book. I feel
that you either get it or you don't and either way, it is as it
should be for now. Until I had read the other positive reviews here,
I was afraid that I was the only one to get it. Nice to know there
are others who have been touched by the spirit of it all. Now I have
a question and that is have any of you ever heard of a walkin? Have
you ever had someone you didn't know approach you and tell you that
you were one? What should I think? Coincidence or ? Wisdom from any
source remains Wise Council. I find it funny how easily people are
quick to judge who God is and is not. I think maybe God finds it
funny too. And I like that. I love God or what others may say is my
concept of God. God is very easy to love when we remember how much he
really loves us. If you want to have a up close and personal visit
with God, pick up any 2yr old and look him in the eye and smile. What
you are looking at is no less than God smiling back at you. I hope
your concept of God is as loving as mine. The reality is that your
concept of anything is the only true reality you will ever know.
Fortunate for us that as are perception changes so does are reality,
and so we progress at the rate we are inclined. Enjoy the world it is
a gift to you it has been written. Above all Love your neighbor as
yourself, and eternal joy is yours.
G.B., 01/24/97, REMEMBER
WHO YOU REALLY ARE!! It's Great!!, enjoy
There is a book by Bob Frissell called "Nothing in this Book is True,
But It's Exactly How Things Are" It is a wonderful book just filled
with "truth"s..up to now it ranked next to the Course in Miracles as
my personal favorite....Well, move over you two. "Conversations with
God has jumped to Number One position. The truth of this book just
resonated within me. I am a Firewalk Istructor and just love to teach
people to change their paradigms. It is an absolute pleasure for me
to watch the light come on in their beings as they realize they DO
have powers they didn't realize they possess. There is no scientific
proof to date as to just why a person can walk across hot coals and
not get burned, but I just accept that on faith. I also KNOW that
"Conversations with God" that Mr. Walsch had are true. When I read
Mr. Walsch's book, the message I got is that he is here to teach
people to REMEMBER WHO THEY REALLY ARE. That is the message I
received many years ago.
K.S., 01/15/97, This is the
most comforting book I've ever read!!
Conversations with God is a truely inspired piece of work. If God
Him/Herself did not write this, then I would conclude that the
author, Mr. Walsch, is far more evolved than most people I know! It
really doesn't matter to me who wrote down these words. What does
matter is that they help people!!This book helped me change my
perspective and take resposibility for my life. It has been my sole
(soul) comfort during some very difficult times I've recently
experianced. Since I found so much value in this book, I bought
copies for some of my relatives for christmas. None of them are
regular "readers" of any kind of books, much less one of a spiritual
nature, But as soon as they opened the book, it spoke to them. I was
pleasently suprised at the reaction I have received from them. I
personally use this book on a daily basis. I ask questions of God and
then open the book at random to read the answer. I am looking forward
to the next two volumes to be published! Thank you Mr. Walsch for
taking the risk and following your heart to have these words
printed.
C.F., 12/13/96, God speaks
to whomever He pleases
If I could give this book higher than a "10," I would; that's how
much I enjoyed it. "Conversations With God" completely opened my mind
to the truth, and changed my life and my outlook. I've read books
before that claim to be the "Word of God" -- among them the Bible --
but none of them have touched me quite like this one. Deep down
within me, I knew this as the Truth; I truly consider this the Best
and Most Important Book I have read. And believe me, I've read quite
a few. This book even has a special place right at my bedside -- that
way I can reach it anytime I need it; which is often. It is
guaranteed to inspire me when I am feeling down. When I read this
book, I can feel God speaking directly to me, and His Light shines
through and reveals my true self. I heartily recommend this book to
EVERYONE; yet I know that the Truth will present itself to each of us
when we are ready, and not a minute before. There is no hiding from
God. He will find you. It's just a matter of time.
T.K., 12/12/96, God of Baby
Boomers
I found this book a fascinating read, but I don't believe - as the
author contends - that this is actually the word of God. The author
stipulates he is literally taking dictation for the Big Guy (in a
very real sense, these are supposed to be new books of the Bible). I
frankly would have gotten more out of the book if the "interview"
style was used as a literary device instead of an honest-to-God
(literally) conversation. It's quite an interesting book from a
philosophical perspective, but from a religious standpoint, it's a
bit cornball. The morals (or lack thereof) in the universe seem just
a TAD convenient for what the boomer generation is hungry for
(essentially, do what feels good - but, gosh, try not to hurt any of
your fellow mother/father Gods in the process; and gobble up all the
money and sex that feels right for you). Long story short: I'd
recommend reading this book, but I wouldn't convert your life (or any
of the author's purported 648 lives) based on it.
C., 12/04/96, mind
opening!
Get ready to expand your mind and take a different approach to your
beliefs. I found this book rang true deep down to a part of myself
that recognizes it as the truth. It is entertaining in its question
and answer format, but you keep thinking of the ideas that are
presented and feel amazed that there actually new thoughts out there
that deserve your attention before any of it is dismissed. It will
become your bible and your constant companion.
A reader, 09/06/96, God has
a sense of humor and I now know him better; Superb!
I read the soft copy before it ceased being published. This a one of
the best books I have ever read and should be read by all searchers.
We can know God and we can lead peaceful, joyful lives. Will be hard
to wait for coming volumes. This book will surpass the Celestine
Prophecy! Excellent.
N., 09/06/96, The search
for who and why am I.
Ouspensky wrote, that our thoughts come up from the dark- deep
floating as an air bubble to the surface. We don't know what they
contain until surfaced. For the greater part, we don't control which
thoughts surface nor how long they tarry. I agreed and espoused the
hypothesis until having read this book. Those little bubbles now have
profiles. They have personality. They choose when to surface and when
to lift from it like a bubble bursting. Upon reading this book, my
relationship with the thoughts which stream through my mind is
crystal clear. My relationship with God is clearer. My relationship
with you, the reader is better understood. I have learned, from
reading this book, how to watch those thoughts arise and word them
correctly, before acting upon them full heartedly. A charm.
P.W., 08/31/96, It will
change your life completely - for the better!
Along with "A Course in miracles", "The Starseed transmissions", and
a few other communications of outstanding clarity, we now have
"Conversations with God" which is absolutely mind blowing and
enlightening. Learn how your "sponsoring thought" controls all that
happens to you. Learn how to hear and see these thoughts. Know that
you are completely safe and destined only for happiness, if you could
only understand how to find it, This book will show you the way with
a clarity that astounds. Read, enjoy and be happy!

I'm happy to be able to read a dialogue with God and save myself all
those exasperating attempts. I also have begged, whined and scolded
God, and talk to him every day....but I get only esoteric
generalities about love, no specifics. I only wish Neale weren't
quite so thick-headed! I also feel that Walsch is promoting HIMSELF a
bit too much. I don't need to see his photo...it's not about him.
There are many wonderful and informative books on spirituality
available that are more anonymous, whose words carry equal weight.
Less Neale, more God, please. And Neale, please forward God my e-mail
address. I have more questions!
C., 07/20/97, NEW AGE MUMBO
JUMBO FROM A THIRD RATE PHILOSOPHER
Walsch resonates as a third-rate (to be very generous)philosopher to
a New Age generation which longs to have someone in the name of God
tell it what it wants to hear. Pity those who take him seriously.
C.M., 06/16/97, The truth
could not have been different .
It is the first book I ever read in my life in which I started to
experience my soul at the same time I was reading. As I was reading
the book I began, for the first time, consciously, to establish a
dialog and to acknowlege a clear and defined relationship with myself
and therefore, the Creator. It is definitely transforming my life in
ways I could have never imagine existed before. I could go on forever
describing it but this space is not enough for the Source is
limitless. LOVE always.
D.R., 05/12/97, The truest
way to our "God self" I've ever read!
Before reading Neale's book, I hungered to know the answers to the
same questions he asks. I just didn't know then I could actually talk
"to" God. This book is a must read for any of you seeking to know Who
You Really Are and the deeper meanings of God's plan for the cosmos
and how we relate to that plan. David L. Rice, President, Black Swan

Inspirational! Mr. Walsch is sincere!
I was definitely skeptical. It didn't last long. Throughout almost
the entire book, I felt surges of joy that shocked and amazed me. All
I could think to myself was "Now THIS sounds like God!" This is the
God that fulfills all my greatest hopes and expectations of what God
is. All of His explanations are so complicated and yet so SIMPLE. No
offense to Mr. Walsch, but I find it hard to believe that he could
have written this book on his own. He would have to be extremely
devious as well as a genious. Logically, if he were, we would have
heard of Neale Donald Walsch long ago. Thank you Mr. Walsch! I
eagerly await Volume 2.
M., 04/02/97, This book
should be read by everyone who wants to know God.
This book gave me more to think about than any book I've ever read. I
was drawn to it before I ever bought it and after I started it, I
couldn't put it down. It answers so many questions that the bible
leaves unanswered. There is no way that this book is anything other
than the truth. If you want to know God and know what his plan is for
you, you need to read this book. I can't wait for the next book to be
published.
S.C., 02/21/97, I was
captivated and enlightened
I've had many days where I've sat and wondered about all the things
that have or have not happened in my life. I've often wondered if I'm
doing the right things. Often times I become very frustrated. You
know? Why do bad things happen to good people? I have followed my
faith as best as I have possibly can. I have sacrificed so many
times. My family has sacrificed so many times. And yet it seemed that
God wasn't there to help. After reading this book, however, and
thinking about my past . . . it has become clear that God was there
all the time. He never gave up. He's given me and my family many
blessings. He gave me the "free will" to choose. I could have gone
the other route and at times I almost did but I didn't. As a result,
I am finding out Who I Am. Which is the point of this book. Which is
what God wants us to discover in this present life. The moment we
find out Who We Really Are is the moment that we become closest to
God. Thank you Mr. Walsch. Thank you for sharing your conversation
with God.
L.H.W., 06/09/96, A book to
be read over and over and savored.
Can I really talk to God? Why am I here? What is my reason for being?
What is the truth about God?If you have ever asked these questions,
you NEED this book! Read it and listen to your heart. Judge for
yourself whether this is the "truth," and enjoy this enlightening and
thought-provoking conversation with Neale Donald Walsch's God.
