Synopsis
No matter what name we give it--hunch, gut feeling, sudden impulse--intuition remains an alluring but mysterious subject. Until now. In this fascinating and persuasive book, intuition expert Gail Ferguson explains the scientific basis for intuition as a specific human sensory system--a sense just like hearing or seeing, but one that's often so unfamiliar to us that we don't know when it's happening and what to do with it. To help us develop our intuitive powers, Ferguson shows us how to recognize and utilize specific psi effects, which she identifies as intuition's sensory messengers, each with unique qualities and appearing only for specific situations. They include the familiar clairvoyance, precognition, and telepathy as well as others she has discovered. Just as we gain knowledge from learning to listen to some things and ignore others (like car horns), we need to understand how to use our own natural and innate intuitive powers selectively and skillfully. Ferguson, who discovered her own intuitiveness at an early age, recounts her own experience and scientific discoveries to show readers how to hone their intuition. She weaves a lively narrative about her worldwide work as a consultant to search-and-rescue teams and police crime squads with important insights drawn from years invested in scientific and historical research, investigation, and public debate on intuition. With her groundbreaking new approach, readers will learn how to master their intuitive powers and, in turn, enhance their lives.

succeed.
Begin simply. Have you had a hunch, or a gut feeling, or,
possibly, felt certain "in your bones" about a situation. I can say
that this was your intuition at work. Here you learn why you should
learn to work with it. For instance, in your case, did you pay
attention and follow through on the signal? What was the outcome? Can
you say that the information worked to your advantage? It should
have, for this is intuition's job - to give you advantages. The
natural process is simple to describe: (1) Intuition signals its
information - with a hunch, impulse or some particular kind of
feeling; (2) You become aware of it; and (3) follow through. The art
is to understand why we all have this intuition and to learn to use
it superbly. You learn those details here. Cracking Ö introduces
a groundbreaking explanation of our intuition as a sound sensory
system that regularly transmits information to each of us
individually about which directions we should move and the best
options available for following the route to success in our personal
and professional lives. Dozens of real-life examples illustrate each
point presented. Start with the well-known fact that all of our
rational and techno-tools simply do not deliver the full scope of
information we need to be wholly secure and to thrive in our lives.
This means that we often have to guess or gamble on the best course
of action when we are faced with the inevitable, often threatening,
unknowns and unpredictables that we all encounter daily. Here is the
place where intuition comes in. Unbeknownst to most people, we
receive its signals constantly; they reveal that missing information
we need, when we need it. For example, in "Cracking" two people are
described who intuitively knew in advance that an earthquake would
strike. The foreknowledge enabled them to take self-protective action
and suffer no harm. In another account a young child was saved from
drowning because of one person's intuitive telepathic ability. Here
you discover that when we apply intuition intelligently it becomes a
reliable tool for learning practical details for making decisions and
solving problems. But if we are going to master our intuition, we
need to employ its highly confusing signals. "Cracking" deciphers
those signals, explains what you are supposed to do with the
information they deliver, and goes even further to show why our
intuition is essential if life itself is to perpetuate wholesomely on
earth. What are these signals, you might be asking? For most of us,
they are a familiar but perplexing hodgepodge of senses of danger or
urgency, driving feelings, uninvited impulses and plain facts, of
mystifying telepathy, precognition and clairvoyance, to name a few.
They seem to want us to use them to learn what choices to take and
which moves to make, but Ö we don't quite trust them. I realized
how marvelous life would be if each of us could learn its aggregate
of codes thus be able to recognize our own intuition well enough to
use it to our advantage. This is my main goal for "Cracking". Of
course, if you are to master your intuition you must u-s-e it.
Included is the general formula that I have applied for years.
Overall, this book needs you to take time reading it, to think as you
go and explore the deeper reasons for intuition existing at all, to
work through normal conflicts about it such as whether it is at odds
with religion, to become involved in the dozens of real-life examples
described and to ask yourself what you would do in a similar
situation. Here you take the most important first steps toward
settling your own doubts about it and cracking intuition's code
within you.

, April 16, 1999 Fascinating and insightful
Gail Ferguson's Cracking the Intuition Code is a fascinating and
insightful exploration of an always intriguing subject. What I
particularly enjoyed was the way she grounds her understanding of
intuition in science, showing us how things such as telepathy and
precognition actually work as intuition's sensory messengers. Her
discussions of biology and spirituality are also right on target and
even profound. This is an amazing book and I can't wait to read more
books by Gail Ferguson.

This book is a treasure trove of specific examples illustrating how
intution works in everyone's life. Clear thinking and organized
principles make sense of a subject that is all too often wishy-washy.
Specific exercises to enhance intution's effectiveness are priceless.
A must read.

analysis
You will never again be able to ignore those inner signals we all
experience, and your life will be richer for it. Thought provoking,
practical,challenging...perhaps too challenging for those deeply into
traditional religions. Ferguson has vividly mapped out the many
avenues by which we recieve intuitive instruction, and how we can be
better prepared to act or not act...often in life threatening
situations.
