Surely the most unbelievable ongoing story on the paranormal front concerns the "miracles" associated with Indian holy man Sai Baba, whose feats surpass anything ever claimed about any modern psychic. In fact they make the fierce controversy over whether Uri Geller bends spoons by psychokinesis or sleight of hand seem no more than a frivolous exercise. The claims made for Sai Baba will go, I am sure, beyond the "boggle threshold" of many of you Professor Haraldsso's conscientious research will give you an idea why so many investigators, including skeptical magicians, have remained perplexed - Jerome Clark, editor of FATE Magazine

Well worth reading for the interest of the topic, of the man, and the puzzle it presents - Professor Hans Eysenck, University of London

Erlendur Haraldsson, professor of psychology at the University of Iceland, has become the first researcher of any nationality to submit the phenomena attributed to Sai Baba to thorough scrutiny. His book gives us a large amount of first-hand evidence, and although the author is concerned with the phenomena rather than the philosophy behind them, he has also painted a vivid picture of what is surely one of the most remarkable men of our time. - Guy Lyon Playfair, author and researcher

Certainly one of the most interesting books I have read in quite a while -- a most fascinating book. - Phillip Paul, author and journalist

Thankfully there is a new book on Sathya Sai Baba which goes a long way to determine the relative authenticity of his miracles -- Undoubtedly, Haraldsson's study is the most balanced book ever written on the miraculous work of Sathya Sai Baba -- I highly recommend MODERN MIRACLES. - Robert Lane, editor of Understanding Cults and Spiritual Movements

A fascinating and challenging book. - Scientific and Medical Network Newsletter

'An unbiased and analytical study of this remarkable man -- I heartily recommend it... ' - Joseph Upton, London Buddhist Vihara

'Sathya Sai Baba is by far the best-known contemporary holy man of India. He should be of particular interest to psychical researchers, because his reputation as a holy man largely derives from the astonishing physical phenomena, presumably paranormal, that occur in his presence. Erlendur Haraldsson has written the first book about Sai Baba that we can fairly characterize as scientific, because he has assembled evidence from eyewitnesses of the phenomena, and he analyses it dispassionately with due consideration for alternative interpretations -- a significant book -- a grounding monograph. ' - Professor Ian Stevenson, University of Virginia

'An objective and concise documentary of Sai Baba's remarkable psychic gift -- warmly and highly recommended. Do read it. '- Psychic News

A reader from USA , August 23, 1998 Modern Miracles of SATHYA SAI BABA are just the begining....
Dr. Haraldsson has taken the time to explore the facts about miracles of Sathya Sai Baba. He has taken an objective approach and sheds light for those who are begining to putting their first step towards the ultimate GOD. He has been very objective and left the final decision to us to feel, and experience the realty of life. Its like being born in 30 A.D. and some one ask you to analyze the miracles of Jesus- the son of GOD. Well edited book. Lacks some hard core facts about SAI Baba. Questioning the facts, makes faith more stronger. LOVE ALL.SERVE ALL.
